LAS VEGAS RESORTS RANKED WORST TO BEST

In my last post, I was thinking about the best and worst resorts I visited on the Las Vegas Strip. I thought it would be fun to rank them. It should be noted I didn’t get to visit every resort. Noticeably absent is Resorts World, The Strat, Excalibur, Luxor and NY, NY.

10. Harrah’s

This hotel was just trashy. It’s New Orleans themed. Somehow, the sister location which actually is located in New Orleans is way nicer. (It’s now a Caesar’s Casino, technically.) Not only would I not stay here, I have no reason to ever go again.

9. The Flamingo

Gaudy. I guess “gaudy” goes with the theme of the Flamingo, but I just didn’t like this place.

8. Planet Hollywood

Planet Hollywood has the famous Miracle Mile shopping center, where you can get a lot of cheap eats on the strip. I only had one meal there. It was a burger joint called Ketchup. It was gross. The Miracle Mile is one of a couple of places trying to replicate the design of the Venetian. It’s almost successful. Unfortunately, it feels more like a mall than the others.

7. MGM Grand

Losers is fantastic if you love country music. I enjoyed the food and the live music at Nellie’s. The lazy river was great. That was it. It’s a pretty boring resort otherwise. Its also at the far end of the strip, so transportation is a pain in the ass.

6. Caesar’s

There’s nothing wrong with Caesar’s. It’s very nice. Very stylish. It just doesn’t do much for me.

5. The Wynn Las Vegas

The Wynn and the Bellagio are pretty close to each other in my opinion, though I didn’t explore as much of the Wynn. But they’re both incredibly classy. If you want to go someplace with panache, either of these will do. The Wynn is probably nicer and classier, but the Bellagio has a better position on the strip.

4. The Bellagio

I really don’t have much to add to that. The Bellagio was previously the resort I most wanted to stay at. If there is a negative, I would say that the Bellagio is more of a tourist attraction than the Wynn. It will draw more random people who aren’t staying there. I still really love it though. And the Gardens are really cool.

3. The Venetian

Like the Bellagio, the Venetian is still a classic Las Vegas resort. And while it isn’t as classy, the Venetian has more personality.

2. The Paris Hotel

Paris is a more refined version of the Venetian. It takes all the concepts of the Venetian, makes them French and improves them. I just loved everything about the design of this place. It’s gorgeous, it’s classy, but it’s also still friendly.

1. The Cosmopolitan

Top spot was a toss up between Paris and the Cosmo. The Cosmopolitan wins just because it’s the coolest hotel I’ve ever seen. Check out this “hall of mirrors” filled with video screens in the lobby. It was awesome. There are tons of food and entertainment options here. This is a resort I could spend an entire trip inside.
