MY FAVORITE IMAGES OF 2024

Every year, I post my favorite photographs that I’ve taken from the past year. It’s nice because it reminds me of how I’ve grown.

I’m not going to do that this year. At least, not as I usually do. There will be some of my actual best work. But there will also be images that— while not technically perfect— have meaning to me. And some photos that are of me, but not by me.

It’s been a hell of a year. Let me show you.

This shot was also taken at the photowalk. You can see it is in the same location, but from a completely different angle. Using a 24mm lens really brings you into the scene. This really is one of my favorite shots of all time. Everything about it is just perfect.

My oldest friend got married this year. Going to the wedding, I had that little itch that photographers get, where I just couldn’t put down the camera. That said, I was not the wedding photographer and had to remind myself not to get in the hired photog’s way. So I brought my travel camera, the Canon m6 mk ii and a telephoto lens, which allowed me to take photographs for myself and not be obnoxious. This image of Chris dancing with his mom is one of my favorites.

I thought this was a good way to end it. Two lunatics with cameras. We’ve done so many massive shoot this year. Like, epic shoots. Beyond what any other photographer would do with only one assistant. Honestly, more than most would do with a whole team.

Here we took a lifeless, abandoned park and gave it one last Christmas. (There were other people assisting on this particular shoot.) No one else could have done this. Most wouldn’t even try.

In the end, that’s what this year has been about. Doing the impossible.

We did it.
