October Blog: Day 8… or 9.
Failure.
A large part of my life is dealing with failure. Most of them preventable mistakes compounded by unavoidable circumstance.
The circumstances don’t change my responsibility. A third of the way through October and I’ve failed several of my abstinences. A lot of this is due to contracting Covid at the end of September. Some of it is a failure of commitment on my part.
This blog, for instance. It should have been written and posted much earlier today. But after I got home from work, I chose to be lazy. I watched some youtube videos and then took a 3 hour nap. Now I’m finally getting around to it and it’s so late that it isn’t worth posting until tomorrow.
When faced with failure, I’ve often tried to persevere. Sometimes to my detriment. I’m not completely giving up on Sober October. I’ll keep shooting. I’ll keep writing. I’ll keep exercising in the morning and at night. No social media and no politics.
Though to be honest, it all feels absent of hope.
Anyway. Sunday’s post will be about my trip to the Grand Canyon West.
Today’s photo-a-day image is a figurine of Sora, a video game character from the Kingdom Hearts franchise. I love Kingdom Hearts. Sora is a character that represents selflessness and loyalty. These are qualities I’ve always tried to embody. I’ve had my failures there as well.
As the sun was setting today, I saw the figure and decided to take a few shots.
